By: Sherdog

Spike TV issued a release on Monday announcing the 32 fighters who will compete for a $100,000 prize as well as a spot in a future Bellator 170-pound tournament. The show, which features Randy Couture, Greg Jackson, Frank Shamrock and Joe Warren as coaches, premieres on June 19 at 10 p.m. ET on Spike.

Notables include Strikeforce and UFC veteran Joe Riggs, five-time Bellator competitor Chris Lozano and ex-Legacy Fighting Championships welterweight titlist Mike Bronzoulis, to name a few. Fighters will be allowed to choose their coaches and opponents, according to the release.

Spike TV will broadcast 10 hour-long episodes, with qualifying bouts to be held during the show’s first airings. The finale will be broadcast live on Spike. The Viacom-owned network aired the first 14 seasons of “The Ultimate Fighter” before the UFC signed a contract with Fox Sports and moved the reality series to FX in 2012.

Hawaiian Tynanes aims to keep One FC winning streak

HAWAIIAN Lowen Tynanes is returning to the Philippines as a better and more experienced fighter. A win by Tynanes at ONE FC: Rise to Power on May 31, at the Mall of Asia Arena will bring him even closer to his ultimate goal of becoming ONE FC’s lightweight world champion.

Mixed martial arts (MMA) run deep in the Tynanes family. His father and brother; both MMA fighters, sparked his interest in the sport. Lowen credits his father as his inspiration and the reason he started training. At age 20, he first came to Asia in 2011, where he made his professional debut at an event in Nagoya, Japan. His was the first fight of the evening while his father Myles was the main event. Both father and son emerged winners.

Though he lived there his entire life, Tynanes never competed professionally in Hawaii. Most of his important bouts were held in Japan, Malaysia and the Philippines.

Following his victory in Japan, he took on Philippine MMA’s golden boy Eduard Folayang at a Universal Reality Combat Championship event. He beat Folayang with superior wrestling skills. Following the fight, he admitted he was nervous, as it was the first time he competed without his father in his corner.

His next bout came in ONE FC: Return to Warriors. Tynanes relied on his wrestling prowess anew to pull off a rear-naked choke win in the third round against world kickboxing champion Vuyisile Colossa. He aims to extend his winning streak when he returns at ONE FC: Rise to Power this month.

Despite his success as an MMA fighter, the 22 year-old still maintains a humble lifestyle in his hometown and continues to keep his day job at a Cheesecake Factory branch in Honolulu.
